Carlsbad 5000. 2020 Schedule (Pending final confirmation) Friday, September 18 | Early Race Kit Pick-up Location: Fleet Feet San Diego 11:00a – 6:00p Thanks to the wonderful team at Fleet Feet San Diego, we are excited to once again offer early race kit pick-up at their centrally located flagship store in Carmel Valley at Pacific Highlands Ranch. Since our postponement announcement in March, we have been cautiously optimistic that a live race in September could roll out with the same magic that the World’s Fastest 5K has experienced since 1986.
The legendary post-race The course features nearly two miles along the Pacific coast with an exciting, spectator-friendly finish in the heart of Carlsbad Village. One water station is located along the course and additional hydration options are provided at the finish line.Over the course of the 2020 event weekend, September 19-20, 2020, road closures and no parking zones will be effect in and around Carlsbad Village. The iconic Carlsbad 5000 presented by National University will take place the weekend of March 21-22, 2020. Carlsbad 5000 presented by National University is a full day of road racing on the seaside streets of Carlsbad, California. Information regarding award distribution will be provided before race weekend. The Carlsbad 5000 features a fast and fun seaside course where 16 world records have been set. The world record-setting course is USATF sanctioned and certified.

Please note that in order to qualify for age group awards, participants must wear their race bib with the chip intact. We encourage you to complete your race by running or walking your favorite socially distanced route between September 14-20. More information can be found Race timing will be provided using chip + bib technology which will automatically record participants’ times at the start and at the finish. Known as the World’s Fastest 5K, race weekend promises a fast oceanfront course, healthy competition, and an energetic atmosphere for participants of all ages and paces.
Results will be available online soon after runners cross the finish line.Age group awards will be presented to the top 3, male and female categories, for the 5K distance. This year’s race kits include the 2020 race shirt, finisher medal, race bib, and awesome swag from our event sponsors!
