Ely Ford, now the site of a beautiful picnic area, was a river crossing point. The trail runs through open farmland, blueberry fields, dense brush, and wooded areas. No concessions or camp store. The weather did not cooperate on this visit. The City of South Haven does not have accommodations for horses or horse trailers beyond the junction and does not recommend horseback riding on the trail within the city limits. So, we backtracked to Van Buren State Park and we’re so happy that we did!
