As Gunpowder’s premier day-use park, the Hammerman Area features a 1,500 foot beach and swimming area on the banks of the Gunpowder River.

Always lots of great flora and fauna so the hiking never gets boring and I get to see lots of deer, foxes, etc. It's decent if you just want to take your kids out for a bit but definitely not if you're looking to swim.This review is for Hammerman Beach.

They are both unique and well worth a visit. We often let our dog swim in the beach area nearest the sail board rentals then take him hiking so he can drive off before getting back in the car. This beautiful sand beach is pawsitively awesome for doing your best doggy paddle or engaging in some water sports. This park is better for jogging, cycling, strolling or canoeing/kayaking.

I hiked several of their wooded trails and al were well manicured and very nice. I went with family and friends including 2 toddlers, and we all had a wonderful time.
