Needless to say that the 40/45 minutes format does not manage to present a variety of cases at a given moment but rather one case per episode. Plus in the Gideon books there is interesting comment on the state of the nation- hardly surprising when you know that Creasy was head of a political movement in the 60s.

if you appreciate well written and crafted police drama with an authentic and quality feel to it's production then Gideon's way is for you. It dealt with the new phenomena (for 1964) of the Mods and the Rockers. Only 507 were made from 1948 to 1951. When she is kidnapped Gideon immediately knows who's to blame, but proving it and freeing the girl is more difficult. His long day ends when he arrives at home and finds that his daughter has a date with the policeman who gave him a ticket that morning.
