If you like mysteries and plots full of red herrings, you will really like this. Oustanding performances, especially by Olivia Coleman. Love this series.

I don’t know whether I should continue because I quite liked series 1 but it ended on a good ending which didn’t leave too much unanswered or unfinished so I feel if I watch further and the episodes aren’t as good, I won’t remember the show as being as good as S1. David Tennant and Olivia Colman star in this eight-part crime thriller set in the seaside resort of Broadchurch. This first series is excellent, with some interesting characters and twists to the plot. I initially brought to this series because I had seen several of the DR WHO episodes that featured David Tennent.

They have enjoyed it as it has a good gripping story with great characters which should mean the writers should get a pat on the back.

I would say that the type of music required should have been far softer thus enabling one to concentrate on what the scenes portrayed. Episodes Broadchurch. Clearly, British television producers have learned a few 'stylistic' touches from their American counterparts, but let's hope that they don't adopt many of our more commercial bad habits. Once again they have show the amazing showcase of talented actors and actresses and these are not only limited to the leads, absolutely everybody in this program can act and does so wonderfully. Their warmth and connection to one another is heartening, and immediately puts the viewer on notice that the murder of one the village's children will affect all who live there.

I found it a very interesting mini-series, and although it was technically a 'murder mystery' I didn't find myself trying to 'guess the guilty party' so much as I studied the behavior of so many of the characters. So whether you are 19 or 90 you should enjoy this police drama. It unfolds in a rather interesting way and keeps you thinking and guessing as to what the outcome will be. References to a dark past make you wonder about his brusque, almost-pompous attitude, and heightens the tension between him and the close-knit police force & neighborhood he has dropped into at the start of investigating the worst crime the town has supposedly seen, the murder of an 11-year-old boy. Not everything works well, but it is fiction and written to keep you guessing.

It's all a bit manipulative while trying to be clever.

(Another clue: While innocent Broadchurch residents like Tom, Mark, and Paul were wide awake at 2 a.m. at the end of the episode, Joe, the guilty party, slept peacefully.)

Catch up tv on Broadchurch. Unfortunately, I missed several of these gripping episodes when first broadcast, so as soon as I saw this Blu-ray version on sale I just had to buy a copy to catch up.
