We’re too cheap to have many private schools or theaters – we just use Lafayette’s, Berkeley’s, Oakland’s and San Francisco’s.Of course Orinda is snobbier than Lafayette.

How can we tell which California cities are the snobbiest? If you read the article, you’d see that the author wasn’t trying to insult anybody (and if they did, it was in good humor).I thought this was an interesting piece. But they’re for sure pretty snobby.Wouldn’t you be too? But hey, THEIR family is safe, so why should they care, right? I was born and raised here. There’s some actual culture here. Walk. Newport Beach is probably a lot more laid back than some of the other coastal towns in Southern California. That's where the problem is.

You can bet 100% that they look out over the bay area from atop their verandas and porches and think, “I’m better than they are.”They have the best, biggest most grandiose homes in the state and they know it. A lot of the city lives normal lives like you and I.And about 10% of Beverly Hills lives like kings. So does having a half dozen private schools, a museum, several art galleries and folks like John Steinbeck and Steve Wozniak as your neighbors.Aw yes. Palo Alto isn’t a place I’d ever want to live. Don’t freak out. In fact, the snobs there are probably wincing, because now we all know that they think they’re better than the rest of us.And to be clear, we didn’t form this list based on our own biases — we relied on the cold hard data.If you’re feeling a bit haughty about these rankings, calm down. Go to a Laguna Beach art gallery opening, get a free glass of wine and observe. The settlement that was established in the 1860s was originally named for a mill, but the name was changed to Los Gatos after the Spanish land grant. Of course it is now known as Silicon Valley. And boy are these people loaded. You know residents are quick to bring that up at every opportunity.Homes in San Carlos average ‘only’ $927,000, which means in the bay area, these folks have some work to do if they want to move on up the snob totem pole.They call their town, “The City of Good Living,” which means they sure aren’t hiding the fact that they think they’re on a different level than other cities. (not to mention I've got uncles, aunts, n cousins living here.)

If you think you're better than others and fail to be a good person, relying only on the town you're from to give you worth, then I feel sorry for your shallow, hollow life.Okay, I admit it. They have no consideration for people in crosswalks or anywhere really, not even if that person (like me) is pushing a stroller with a little girl in it!
