Fanny Brice started life on the Lower East Side of New York, the daughter of a Jewish saloon owner.
Barbra gives a great rendition of the song but it's drowned mostly in long shots and the sound of the shuffling feet of the surrounding dancers.

February 16, 2002 Most of the songs included herein are old standards, with the notable exceptions of Kander and Ebb's "How Lucky Can You Get?" A much deserved sequel to the first movie :) Barbara again amazes us with her amazing acting & singing skills :) This is another amazing marvel in film history :) James Caan is also incredibly exceptional in this movie as Fanny's love interest :) Falling hard for the stunning Nick Arnstein (suavely played by Omar Sharif), Brice must navigate a difficult marriage. The production design is excellent and some of the costumes are eye popping, the feathered dress in itself is amazing, but they are dressing up an average affair.

The supporting characters here aren't as enjoyable or fleshed out as in the first, where is Kay Medford's wonderful mother? But the film itself is perhaps the ultimate example of the roadshow musical gone overboard.
