Witcher 2 maybe would have gotten my vote if the poorly designed Eternal Battle wasn't in the game, the final act was more fleshed out (I feel it needed 1-2 hours more content), and there were some more story driven quests in Chapters 1/2 where you just hunt down a monster for the locals (like the Troll DLC for Flotsam). As is though Witcher 1 is a more complete game, and has the better "Witcher" feel.Dwarf: Why do pricks go in pussies? Stories about political conspiracies are more appealing to me than typical dark fantasy tales. Witcher 1 was longer, and had a compelling story, but I wasn't digging the gameplay mechanics.Though I started with the first game, I personally prefer The Witcher 2.Not because it's more polished and has better gameplay mechanics. Witcher 2 looks like it was made by someone else compared to this!

It encouraged me to read everything, second guess everything, and try to understand the underlying message under every line.I've played TW2 six times and there are still new things I learn, new perspectives I get regarding some character's guilt or motivations.I have simply never seen such depth in an RPG and I've been playing video games for a long long time. Everything felt very confusing, I just wanted to know if it is the same or did they make it better? The level of immersion, and amount of atmosphere in that game is incredible.Chapter 4 is a masterpiece of the RPG genre, and it doesn't without over the top action or "OMFG LOOK HOW EPIC THIS CHARACTER IS.
Triss' powers in Assassins Of Kings turned out to be quite lacking. Production on season 2 of The Witcher will resume August 17. Jacques de Aldersberg didn't really strike me as a main antagonist.I enjoyed Witcher 1 better actually. TW1's soundtrack was fantastic.The Witcher 1 by far.
Personally I'd have to give it to WItcher 2. I just prefer the lore and story.
Also, Letho is a much better antagonist than Jacques de Aldersberg.Many people complained about the lack of narrative exposition and how confusing the story was in TW2 but that is precisely why I loved the game. She was pretty much relegated into the role of being a damsel in distress, and the fact that she couldn't … I personally who played all three games, prefer Witcher 3 and Witcher 1 over Witcher 2.
Being slightly lost is what made me attentive and what drew me into this world.
It's simply my favorite game.I recommend giving Planescape Torment a try, I think you'll like it a lot if you appreciate depth in storytelling.Witcher 2 definitely had the better antagonist. Also, Witcher 2 is quite linear and consolish, thus I can understand the confusion. I think each game has its strengths but for me they just got better and better.
