I think Greedfall is on the verge of greatness but falls short in too many areas to really go down as a must-play. GreedFall received "mixed or average reviews" on review aggregator Metacritic for the PC and PlayStation 4 versions based on 38 and 37 reviews respectively, while the Xbox One version received "generally favorable reviews" based on 14 reviews. I did have fun when I got lost in its familiar RPG loop, but its lack of nuance or innovation prevents it from being truly remarkable. Over time, as new settlers pour in from the Old Continent, they increase their economic grasp over Teer Fradee.But, as with many games that boast a story that stretches on for dozens of hours, I need to get through lots of side quests and setup in order to tackle the big themes.The opening chapter sets the template for how the rest of I can recruit a few companions, and they can step in to help with certain conversations ... or they might get upset with me if I go about attacking members of their particular faction.
