I booked this time at Riu Negril because it was cheaper and am paying the way for my brother. Behind the sellers stalls there is a fence, but that divides the beach from the trees and then the road, nothing across the beach.If you go by the stats on the Reviews for each hotel and then weigh up how much you want to spend then make your choice.

We enjoyed RIU Negril and have booked our flights for December, but trying figure out what we will really gain by upgrading to Tropical Bay. Some others prefer quiet seclusion and early to bed.
