There are also picnic tables and areas to walk around. There are wide pathways and beautiful boardwalks to bring you to the different animal exhibits. The park is open from 7-7:30-ish, while the Zoo is open from about 10-4:30 (check their websites, depending on the time of year). Find the Cape May County Zoo and Park (609-465-5271) just north of Cape May Court House at 707 Route 9. Very fun day trip place-been here loads of times.
The park is spotless clean--happy workers--and the best part, happy animals. There is a gift shop with wheelchair and stroller rentals. The zoo is much bigger and better than you can imagine. It's a very nice zoo and isn't overly crowded. The walking paths are great for folks of any ages. Parking can be a problem on peak days. Its free and...My family has been visiting the Cape May Zoo for more than 50 years! For a free zoo this place has a lot.
It is super clean and has a wide variety of animals. What I like the most is how close you can get to the black bears.The Cape May County Zoo is the best place families should visit when here in Cape May. This is a very nice zoo with a suggested donation. The variety of predominately North and South American animals are great! Plenty of parking, free admission (county zoo, so donations accepted - PLEASE DONATE!) It is one of our favorite...Alot of zoos have had bad reputations at keeping zoos healthy and happy when it comes to their animals. and a great way to spend the day. The City tour only has half day tours. Very few urban centers anywhere can match the setting of the beautiful Table Mountain meeting the 2 oceans. The staff is very friendly. There are plenty of exhibits and all kinds of animals. It's free!
Big open cages, not crammed jn like other zoos, you can just tell they are happy here. Our goal is to build a deeper understanding and appreciation for our natural world. Cape May Zoo is the cleaniest and happiest zoo ive yet to see. This is perfect for those with smaller children, of those unencumbered with strollers and the like.
