As a volunteer staff, we all stay very busy with full-time jobs and personal lives, and because of this, we want to take a little down time from editing and producing new issues just to get the business end in tip-top shape.

And by a ‘poem’, we mean all its forms. Identifying information is hidden when we review submissions, so do not include your name on any page of your submitted work.We generally respond to all submissions within 6 to 8 weeks after the posted submission deadline. Pay is $35-250.

It’s great to stay informed, but it’s also important not to let ourselves get hopelessly anxious over the latest headlines. Please help us in making it everything that you envision such a book can be. We do allow simultaneous submissions and previously published work. However, don’t worry if a translation is not available. Although the volume will finally be printed in English, we want to make a real effort to include non-English queer voices in translation. If you are uncomfortable being published under your given name, you can be published under a pseudonym.

Poems can be previously published. For those of you who would like to remain anonymous or use a pseudonym for your submissions for this book, we enthusiastically welcome your poems as well.We seek submissions both in non-English languages and in English. Acting Up: Queer in the New Century Seeking submissions for an anthology about the way LGBT+ people have grown up, come of age, come out, acted up, and raised children in our new century.
