Then drove the 2 1/2 hours back because we had to pay over 200 for a room. The hotel room was quite average comparable to a Holiday Inn Express, but the Dining Resturant was good food and had an excellent waitress.. They go out of their way to make sure we are taken care of. I will definitely stay there again if I am in the area just not on a Saturday.I've been there numerous times over the past 5-6 years as it's the nearest casino to Nashville. I even switch beds in the room. Elite '2020. Blackjack, three card poker, baccarat etc. Rooms Make yourself at home in one of the 252 air-conditioned rooms featuring refrigerators and flat-screen televisions. 1 check-in. So all you can smell and see is dead fish. There are a lot of blackjack and mini baccarat tables and a private poker area which had two games going. The casino is smoke-free so that's a plus is you're a non-smoker. The slots DO NOT PAY! First time, excellent service, past two times, declining to the "disappointed" level. As I was going to cash in my chips, the staff decided to approach me to ask me to leave because I had been drinking. Come on people - this is a small town in Illinois, so let's not compare the place to a casino/resort in friggin Vegas. However, the rates are great, the rooms are spacious, well appointed, clean, and comfy! The buffet is ok, it's very southern food that will fill you up. As others have said about it, it's small-the gaming space is mostly slot machines and there's a small area for table games. Very subpar for a Harrahs establishment the best part of the casino was the restaurant. 6/13/2016. From the people picking up empty glasses to the cashiers to the floor hospitality hosts. The only reason it wasn't a 5 is because I did not have a chance to try the food. VERY POOR performance from a Harrahs casino! EVER. I have had winning days there and losing days there.....what else to expect.......it's gambling! They have a sectioned off 'High stakes' area but given the area and the people that I saw playing I don't think they need to devote so much space to high rollers. This place is an absolute SHIT HOLE. From Taylor at the front desk....to Amy and Tara at the Bridges restaurant...Brenda at the casino bar to the wonderful and helpful security staff. Here's what I got. Drinks there were so sub par, barely an ounce pour, oh and I was curtly informed that they "don't do doubles" by another one of their not so friendly bartenders earlier in the day. We only stayed one night (Friday) and left Saturday morning because the price of the room went from $120 to $280. You'd think they could offer up furniture that didn't have big nasty looking stains on it considering the hefty additional fees?? On a Saturday night they had 3 of the 4 poker tables open with about 25 people waiting to play, yet they never offered to open the 4th table because they were inadequately staffed. Did I mention the slots DO NOT PAY??? It's 2017 and we know that smoking causes cancer.Well, compared to Vegas casinos, there is pretty much no comparison. The gaming floor is tiny compared to the typical Vegas casino resort, with slot-type machines the most popular video gaming.
